Dr. Suess brilliantly wrote in his motivational book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go:
“You can get so confused that you’ll start to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed I fear, toward a most useless place. The waiting place…
for people just waiting. Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow, or waiting around for a Yes or No, or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.”
How many times does this happen to us in life?
You get stuck in the Waiting Game!
We wait for a promotion.
We wait to be happy.
We wait to lose weight.
We wait until the children are grown.
We wait to start an exercise program.
We wait to invest money.
We wait to start a side-hustle.
We wait to write that book we’ve always wanted to write.
The waiting game is a dangerous place.
It is the place where dreams die.
The waiting game will ruin your life. It will make you miserable.
Instead of getting stuck in the waiting game, join the starting game.
Start writing daily.
Start going after a new career.
Start reading meaningful books 10 minutes a day.
Start taking 20-minute walks.
Start a new business.
Nothing big ever happened to someone in the waiting game.
However, all big things began with someone starting something.
Even if it’s small, start something today.
