Many times in an attempt to prove we are right, we become egotistical, rude, and don’t stop until we have pissed off people. After you have proven your opinion you may be happy for a moment, but that feeling quickly fades awa.
So what is the point of being right all the time?
There are times when we need to be right – especially as parents. We need to be right about looking both ways before crossing the street. Or we need to be right about basic math and correct our children when they announce 3+1=7. Those are important.
However, when you are right about trivial arguments it really doesn’t matter. “Winning” arguments about taxes, religion, or political issues doesn’t make anyone’s life better. It only creates conflict and hate.
Instead of trying to convince everyone your opinion is right, use that energy to love little more, improve relationships, and enjoy life!
